The time I spent in Fuerteventura on this workshop by @destinationlovers.de + @colorsoflove.wedding was absolutely unforgettable. The people I got to meet, the scenery and panorama I got to see and the beautiful couples I got to capture literally took my breath away – like every two seconds.

As soon as I touched down on the island, I just had this feeling it was going to be special to me. I had only ever been to Tenerife before, never to Fuerteventura. The landscape looks like you’re on Mars, right up my alley – with hidden spots and gems all around and the ocean is never more than a short drive away. Yet another sign that I might end up living by the ocean sometime in the future, who knows?

This set captures the wild and emotional feeling of an intimate elopement. Just you, your vows and the person you love – what more do you need? Not everyone is made for that big wedding with friends and family, some just want their person and to promise them eternity in their backyard.

Weddings are not one size fits all, there’s endless versions and ideas out there. What’s most important is that you and your partner find what fits YOU best. Not what makes Mom happy, not what you’re supposed to do – find what makes you the happiest. You only have that one day. Create it to be able to remember it just like you want to remember it!
